The Photo Essay blog
By the end of the school year my production team, NYC Wicked Kids, will be making a film on homeless teenagers. We will be interviewing some students at New Design High School who have been homeless before including my friend Emmanuel. Emmanuel was homeless as a child and has lived in shelters. His brothers and sisters were actually taken away by the state. Emmanuel now lives in the Bronx with his mother again.
I shot a photo essay of a typical day in the life of Emmanuel. One of my first pictures is him in the hallway followed by shots of him in the classroom followed by shots of him working on his future followed by the shots of him in church.
Series of 20 photos of Emmanuel from one of our interviews with him. In the photo essay, I was able to show how much Emmanuel life has change over the years that he lived when he was homeless. This will be a better way of showing the interviewers emotions with out no words. It can also help for making the subject more comfortable when he/she gets in front of the camera. It show every move that he make's because i was able to take a lot of different angles of him so it can show the different moods. It shows connect with the questions that he was asked.
I would like to model this essay of one of subjects named Emmanuel most likely about his life style. The series captures Emmanuel life where he goes to school when he gets out of school also what are his goals for his future. I took shoots of him while he's going to his home with his close friends and family members. Capture some good shoots of him of how he's life has improved because of Emmanuel making good chooses. Wish me the best so this film can turned out to be the best of all times that the NYC Wicked Kids have filmed. To see the rest of the photo essay click the link below. I felt like this was a very powerful photo essay, there were minor grammar mistakes but overall this was nice.
